Join TPWD Urban Biologist Judit Green to learn about local native plants that will beautify your garden, benefit wildlife (including Monarchs who desperately need our help), and conserve water. Common plants that grow in the Natural Area will be highlighted. There will be a short walk around the Natural Area headquarters and nearby Discovery Trail.

Open to all ages; minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
When & Where to Meet
Arrive by 8:45 AM, the hike starts promptly at 9:00 AM. Meet near the rainwater harvesting tower next to the Visitor’s Center. Plan ahead, as the Natural Area often experiences heavy visitation and wait time at the fee booth.
What to Wear & Bring
Dress appropriately; wear sturdy footwear for walking, sunscreen and hats are recommended. Bring plenty of water and a snack if desired.
Requirements
Group size is limited to 20. No pets please. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.

Registration is required for this hike. Natural Area entry fees apply; stop at the Entrance Fee Booth to self-pay/register.
