Would you know what to do if you got lost in the wilderness? Join SOS Adventure Master Outdoor Leader Joey Rios and learn the skills you'll need to stay alive and get found! This interactive course is designed to teach kids the skills they'll need to be confident if they ever get lost outdoors. Activities will include games, demonstrations and instruction followed by a short hike.
Who Is Invited
Open to ages 6 through 14 and older; minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Registration & Fees
Registration required for EACH participant. Adults attending with their children should NOT register. Sorry, no group registrations. Natural Area entry fees apply; stop at the Entrance Fee Booth to self-pay/register.
When & Where to Meet
Arrive by 9:45 a.m. Meet at the Exhibit Gallery next to the Visitor's Center. Plan ahead, as the Natural Area often experiences heavy visitation and wait time at the fee booth.
What to Wear & Bring
Dress for the weather. Bring plenty of water, a snack and sun protection.
Requirements
Group size is limited to 20. No pets please. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.

This program is subject to cancellation. On inclement mornings, check trail conditions by calling GCSNA's main office at 210-688-9055 after 7:30 am, or by going to the GCSNA twitter feed or the Friends of Government Canyon Facebook page.
