Geocaching Summit

  • 1218 Galm Road San Antonio, TX, 78254 United States (map)

Calling all Geocachers!  Join fellow Geocacher Dawn Bodhi and the Friends of Government Canyon for a morning trading stories and trackables, as well as learning about the unique challenges of hiding and seeking caches in the Natural Area. Please keep in mind this is not a Geocaching clinic, but a gathering for caching enthusiasts.

Who is Invited

Open to all; participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a legal guardian. No pets please.

When & Where to Meet

Program leads will welcome everyone into the Exhibit Hall at 8:00AM and will be there until 10:00AM.  Plan ahead, as the Natural Area often experiences heavy visitation and wait time at the fee booth.

A brief program will take place during the first 15 minutes, but you may come and go as you please.  You may join us just for the community meeting part, or use this as a starting ground from which to go caching in the Natural Area.

What to Wear & Bring

Dress appropriately for the weather; wear sturdy footwear, and bring lots of water and a snack if you like.  Be advised, cell reception is limited on the trails; handheld GPS units will be needed for Backcountry caching.

Requirements

All participants must already be registered with a username on geocaching.com (family username is okay.)  This event can be seen on geocaching.com as an event cache.  To log as a "find", cachers must attend event and sign event log.
