Hiking and Camping with Dogs

Most dogs, regardless of size, make excellent hiking and camping companions if they are physically fit and adequately trained for the conditions they will encounter on the trail or in camp.  Learn of and discuss the obligations and preparations you must consider before starting up the trail with your 4-footed friend.  This event will be conducted rain or shine! 

Who is Invited

Open to humans of all ages; minors must be accompanied by their legal guardian.  No pets please.

Registration and Fees

Registration is required for EACH participant.  This event is for humans only; no pets please.  Sorry, no group registrations.  All Natural Area entrance fees apply. 

When & Where to Meet

Arrive by 1:45 pm.  Meet in the Exhibit Gallery next to the Visitor's Center.  Plan ahead, as the Natural Area often experiences heavy visitation and wait time at the fee booth.    

What to Wear & Bring

Meeting space is roofed but can be breezy; dress for the weather.  Sorry, pets are not allowed in buildings, so this event is for humans only!   

Requirements

Group size is limited to 15.  Reservations required and will be accepted through noon Saturday, March 17, 2018.  No pets please; this event is for humans only. To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.  

Cancellation

This event will take place RAIN OR SHINE.
