Join the Friends of Government Canyon for a child oriented class on geocaching basics. Children and their accompanying adult will learn all of the needed skills to begin geocaching on their own. This is a skills development workshop and will include seeking temporary caches. Participants will receive a Junior Geocaching certificate and badge at the end of the session. This program will be held rain or shine!
Who is Invited
Open to ages 4 - 10; minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Please, no more than 3 children per adult.
Registration & Fees
Registration required for EACH child aged 4-10. ADULTS NEED NOT REGISTER! Sorry, no group registrations. Natural Area entry fees apply; stop at the Entrance Fee Booth to self-pay/register.
When & Where to Meet
Arrive by 7:45 AM and meet in the Exhibit Gallery next to the Visitor's Center. Plan ahead, as the Natural Area often experiences heavy visitation and wait time at the fee booth.
What to Wear & Bring
Dress appropriately as the program will be held in an open-air building without air conditioning. Wear footwear appropriate for a short walk along a paved trail. Sunscreen and hats are recommended. You may bring drinks and snacks to enjoy at one the picnic tables outside when the program is finished.
Requirements
Group size is limited to 20. No pets please. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.

This program will be held rain or shine. Should you need to cancel your registration, please do so via Eventbrite or contact us at registrations@friendsofgc.org.
