Hot Dog Pop-Up Event

Woof!

Do you hike with your dog in the Texas summertime?  Come learn how to keep them cool and happy and recognize when they're trying to tell you "Hey, I'm a hot dog!!"

Bring your 4-footed friend and join us on National Trails Day for a revitalizing hike in Government Canyon's Frontcountry.  Stop and relax in the shade at our "Hot Dog Pop-Up" Station before going for 'walkies' and learn how to prevent heat injury to your pup when exploring Government Canyon and other outdoor venues this summer.

Volunteers at the Hot Dog Station will familiarize you with your dog's warning signs of canine heat exhaustion.  You'll also learn on-the-spot first aid measures you can take to provide your pup with the best change for full recover.

Pop-Up Station volunteers with be on-site in Parking Lot C at the Frontcountry Trailhead from 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Reservations ARE NOT required for this event; Natural Area entrance fees apply.
