Join Delmar Cain, local moth enthusiast for Moth Night at Government Canyon State Natural Area! Learn about and see some of our many moth species and other GCSNA night visitors. Help us document moths at night with your phone and/or camera through iNaturalist for the City Nature Challenge!

Who is Invited

Open to all ages; minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

When & Where to Meet

Friday evening anytime between 8-10 PM. No reservations needed. Meet in Parking Lot C across the bridge near the new amphitheater.  

What to Wear & Bring

Dress appropriately for the weather. Bring a flashlight as all parking lot lights will be off for this event.

Requirements

No pets please. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.

Registration & Fees

Registration is NOT required for this hike. Natural Area entry fees apply; stop at the Entrance Fee Booth to self-pay/register. Bring exact payment; cash or check only. Credit cards are NOT accepted when self paying. This program is subject to cancellation.  On inclement mornings, check trail conditions by calling GCSNA's main office at 210-688-9055 after 7:30AM, or by going to the GCSNA twitter feed or the Friends of Government Canyon Facebook page. G
