Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a wee tale about the history of San Antonio’s largest State Natural Area. Join site interpreter John Koepke at our brand new amphitheater and discover an informational Pot O’ Gold: learn the origin of the name “Government Canyon,” why trails have the names that they do, the difference between a State Natural Area and a State Park, and much more! It’s everything you ever wanted to know about Government Canyon, and that’s no malarkey. Come prepared with lots of questions.

Meet at our brand new amphitheater located next to Parking Lot C.

What to Wear & Bring

Dress in layers appropriate for the weather.

Requirements

No pets please. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. 

To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.

Registration, Fees & Cancellation

Registration is NOT required for this hike. Natural Area entry fees apply.
