  • 12861 Galm Road San Antonio, TX, 78254 United States (map)

Join us for a special day at the canyon as we celebrate 100 years of Texas State Parks with multiple hikes and programs! Learn how YOUR local State Natural Area, its past, present and future, are all connected to the importance of fresh, reliable water! Whether it’s 100 years from now or 100 years ago or even 100 million years ago, we all depend on fresh water for our survival and success. That’s why at Government Canyon SNA, it’s All About Water.

From the dinosaurs of the past to your children, your grandchildren and your great-grandchildren’s future, water plays a key role in the survival and success of everything and everyone.

Come see how San Antonio’s largest natural area plays its role in helping protect our most precious resource.

Learn tips and techniques on how each of us can be part of protecting the next 100 years of fresh water. Enjoy a guided hike to locations within the Natural Area that highlight the importance of water in shaping its past. Learn from experts about ways you can conserve water at home today and save money while doing so. Take part in a very special geocache challenge and get a great trackable item while experiencing locations within the Natural Area that really are all about water
