Hike approximately 2.5 miles on the lovely Savannah Loop Trail as we celebrate National Trails Day ®. American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day® is a nationally recognized trail awareness program that occurs annually on the first Saturday of June and inspires the public to discover, learn about, and celebrate trails while participating in outdoor activities, clinics, and trail stewardship projects. National Trails Day® is a registered trademark of American Hiking Society.
Who is Invited: Open to ages 10 and older; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.
When & Where to Meet: Meet at the Frontcountry trailhead in Parking Lot C; plan to be at the Frontcountry trailhead and ready to go no later than 7:45AM. The Natural Area front gates open at 7:00 AM; the hike starts promptly at 8:30 AM.
What to Wear & Bring: Dress for hiking outdoors; sunscreen and hat recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring two liters of water PER PERSON and a snack.
Requirements: Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Participants need to be able to hike approximately 2.5 miles over somewhat uneven terrain that can be a little rocky and rugged in places.
Registration, Fees & Cancellation: Registration is required! Group size is limited. Registration opens the Saturday two weeks prior to the event and closes at noon the Thursday before the event. Sorry, no group reservations. Natural Area entry fees apply.
