Full Moon Hike

Release your inner coyote and come howl at the moon over the canyon!

Join knowledgeable guides on a 3 mile hike and experience a full moon.

Who is Invited

Open to ages 14 and over; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Registration/reservations required! No pets, please.

When & Where to Meet

Arrive no later than 7:30PMMeet at the Visitors Center near the rainwater harvesting tower. The hike starts promptly at 7:45PM. If you are late you’ll miss out!

What to Wear & Bring

Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes. Bring a flashlight, at least a quart of water and a snack if you like.

Requirements

Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.  Participants should be able to hike approximately 3 miles round trip over rugged but beautiful trails with some elevation changes.

To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.

Registration, Fees & Cancellation

Registration is required for this hike. Group size is limited to the first 10 that register.  Sorry, no group registrations. Registration opens on Saturday two weeks prior to the event and closes at noon the Thursday before the event. Natural Area entry fees apply.

IMPORTANT INFO: Since this hike begins after hours, be sure to self-register as you enter the Natural Area. Instructions are posted to the right of the Fee Booth. You will need correct change: $6 per adult (13 years or older), or enter your annual Texas State Parks pass number on the appropriate line of the self-pay envelope. Credit cards are NOT accepted when self-paying.
