Each year birders all over the United States participate in all-day bird counts from Dec. 14 to Jan. 5 in support of the Christmas Bird Count, contributing population data to a citizen science project that stretches over 120 years. Kids can be citizen ornithologists too! A ranger will teach the basics of bird identification, share some helpful hints and tools, and lead a short, guided bird walk.
