Prairie in Your Pocket

Meet Ranger Lisa in the Exhibit Gallery to discuss ways you can create a pocket prairie in even the smallest space in your yard using plants which are native to our region. Bring your questions and a notebook, and we'll share some ideas.

Who is Invited

This activity is open to ages 12 and up and includes both a seated activity and possibly a short hike to look at plant examples. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please. 

Registration, Fees, Day Pass & Cancellation

Program reservations are NOT required! Though the program is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply.

To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass .

When & Where to Meet

Meet at the Exhibit Gallery, next to the Visitor Center.

What to Wear & Bring

Dress for hiking outdoors. Comfortable shoes, sunscreen, bug spray and a hat are recommended. Wear layers that can be added or removed as weather conditions change. Bring at least 1 liter of water per person.
