Would you like to explore some techniques for improving memory, expressing creativity, building scientific skills, and increasing your connection to nature? Journaling regularly can do all this and more. We’ll help you get started with artist-quality tools, a variety of journaling prompts, and a non-judgmental, sharing atmosphere.
Who is Invited
This activity is open to ages 10 and up. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.
Registration, Fees, Day Pass & Cancellation
Reservations are NOT required! Though the hike is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply.
To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass .

Meet at the Exhibit Gallery, next to the Visitor Center.
What to Wear & Bring
Dress for hiking outdoors. Comfortable shoes, sunscreen, bug spray and a hat are recommended. Wear layers that can be added or removed as weather conditions change. Bring at least 1 liter of water per person. We will provide colored pencils and sketchpads, but you will need to bring a blanket or portable chair to sit on while journaling. You are welcome to bring your own art supplies if you’d like.
