How do spotted fur, big ears, long tails, and other special features help animals survive in a challenging environment?

Examine the pelts and skulls of a variety of mammals who live in Government Canyon, and learn about the amazing ways in which they are adapted to hide from danger, find food, and handle extreme temperatures. Then use craft supplies to design a well-adapted animal species of your own.

Who is Invited

All ages welcome. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets, please.

Registration, Fees, Day Pass & Cancellation

Reservations are NOT required! Though the activity is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply.

To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass .

When & Where to Meet

Meet in the Amphitheater. Lot C will have the closest parking.  

What to Wear & Bring

Dress for time outdoors, in layers that can be added or removed as the weather changes. Comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and a hat are recommended. Bring a water bottle for each person.
