Wind Riders and Buried Treasure

Join a ranger to examine native plant seeds and learn about wind riders, buried treasures, hitchhikers, and more. We’ll walk about 1.25 miles to check all the boxes on our plant adaptation scavenger hunt. We may even plant a few seeds of our own.

Who is Invited

All ages welcome! Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.

Registration, Fees, Day Pass & Cancellation

Registration/reservations are NOT required! Though the hike is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply.

To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass .

This hike is weather-dependent and subject to cancellation. Check trail conditions by calling GCSNA’s main office at 210-688-9055, or go to the GCSNA twitter feed or Facebook page.

When & Where to Meet

This activity meets at the Amphitheater, nearest parking is in Lot C.

What to Wear & Bring

Dress for hiking outdoors. Comfortable shoes, sunscreen, bug spray and a hat are recommended. Bring at least 2 liters of water per person and a snack.
