These programs are intended for young folks and will answer all your questions about the fun and excitement of bird watching; including basics on the use of Binoculars and Bird Field Guides. BYO binoculars and Field Guides if you have them or let us know if you’ll need one.
Who is Invited
Open all ages; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.
Registration & Fees
Registration is required for this hike. Group size is limited. Sorry, no group registrations.
Registration opens on Saturday at 8 AM, two weeks prior to the event, and closes at noon, the Thursday before the event. Though the hike is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply.
To save time at the Fee Booth on crowded days and ensure entrance, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass. SPECIAL NOTE: Reserving a Day Pass is NOT the same as making a program reservation.
When & Where to Meet
Arrive no later than 7:45AM. Meet at the rainwater harvesting tower at the Visitors Center.
The Natural Area can be very busy! The Natural Area front gates open at 7:00AM; plan to be at the Visitor Center and ready to go no later than 7:45AM. The program starts promptly at 8:00AM.
What to Wear & Bring
Wear sturdy shoes, hat, sunscreen, and bring at least one liter of water per person.
