Feel free to carry your flags and bring pictures or memorabilia to share on this veteran-led walk. Hike distance will be approximately 8 miles covering uneven terrain with moderate elevation changes.
Who is Invited
Open to anyone 12 years and older. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.
Registration & Fees
Registration is NOT required for this hike. Though the hike is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply. To save time at the Fee Booth and ensure entrance on crowded days, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass. Please note: reserving a Day Pass does not guarantee a spot for you on the hike! The hike is limited to the first 15 participants to check-in with the hike leader.
When & Where to Meet
Arrive no later than 7:45AM. Meet at the Visitors Center near the rainwater harvesting tower. Please check in with the hike leader upon arrival. The Natural Area front gates open at 7:00AM; plan to be at the Visitor Center and ready to go no later than 7:45AM. The hike starts promptly at 8:00AM.
What to Wear & Bring
Dress for hiking outdoors. Comfortable shoes/boots, sunscreen, bug spray and a hat recommended. Wear layers that can be added or removed as weather conditions change. Bring at least 3 liters of water per person and snacks.

This hike is weather-dependent and subject to cancellation. Check trail conditions by going to the GCSNA twitter feed or the Government Canyon State Natural Area Facebook page.
