Military members past and present, along with their family and friends, are invited to share in a day of camaraderie. Feel free to carry your flags and bring pictures or memorabilia to share.
Hike distance will be approximately 7-9 miles covering uneven terrain with moderate elevation changes.
Who is Invited
Hike is open to ages 14 and older. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.
Registration & Fees
Registration is NOT required for this hike, however the group size is limited and open to the first 15 people who check in with the like leader between 7:30-7:45AM.
Though the hike is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply. To save time at the Fee Booth on crowded days and ensure entrance, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass.
When & Where to Meet
Arrive no later than 7:45AM. Meet at the Visitors Center near the rainwater harvesting tower. The Natural Area front gates open at 7:00AM; plan to be at the Visitor Center and ready to go no later than 7:45AM. The hike starts promptly at 8:00AM.
What to Wear & Bring
Dress in layers appropriate to the weather. Carry at least 3 liters of water per person, snacks, lunch, sunscreen, bug spray and hat. Wear sturdy, well-broken-in hiking shoes or boots. To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.
