Mother/Daughter Hike on Bluff Spurs

Join dedicated volunteers on a Mother/Daughter Hike on Bluff Spurs. Participants will learn about nature, wildlife, native plants etc. along the way! Hike distance will be approximately 4 miles on a rocky, uneven trail with some elevation change.

 Who is Invited:

Open to ages 10 and above. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.

This is a public program intended for families. If you would like to bring a group for a program at Government Canyon, please contact the Park Interpreter at Lisa.Cole@tpwd.texas.gov to schedule at a different time.

 Registration & Fees:

Registration is NOT required for this activity, but please arrive on time. On busy days there is often a long line at the Fee Booth.

Though the hike is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply. To save time at the Fee Booth and ensure entrance on crowded days, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass. Please note: reserving a Day Pass does not guarantee a spot for you on the hike! The hike is limited to the first 15 participants to check-in with the hike leader.

 When & Where to Meet:

Meet at the Frontcountry Trailhead in Parking Lot C. Open to the first 15 who check in at the Frontcountry Trailhead between 8:30 and 8:45 AM. The hike starts promptly at 9:00 AM.

 How to Prepare:

Dress for hiking outdoors. Comfortable, broken-in shoes/boots, sunscreen, bug spray and a hat recommended. Wear layers that can be added or removed as weather conditions change. Bring at least 2 liters of water per person and snacks.
