Friends of Government Canyon State Natural Area will host two guided hikes in celebration of American Hiking Society’s annual National Trails Day®. Hikes will be led by volunteers of the Natural Area: one hike will be to Bluff Spurs, approximately 3 miles on rocky, uneven terrain with some elevation change, the other hike will be to the dinosaur tracks, approximately 6 miles on rocky, uneven terrain with some elevation change.
Open to ages 8 and over; minors must be accompanied by an adult. Group size is limited; no pets please. Dress appropriately; sunscreen and hat recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring two liters of water PER PERSON and a snack. Meet at the rainwater harvesting tower at the GCSNA Visitor’s Center.
Reservations required and will be accepted through noon, June 2, 2017. Reserve your spot by emailing reservations@friendsofgc.org. Sorry, no group reservations.
