Allen Sikes

Allen has been involved in the public and private construction industry for almost 25 years since he graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Civil Engineering.  He started his professional career as an officer in the Air Force while assigned to the Civil Engineering Squadron at Barksdale AFB and Randoph AFB.  He left the Air Force as a Captain and entered the private sector when he joined G.W. Mitchell, a San Antonio General Contractor, in 1999.  As the Senior Project Manager, Allen was responsible for over $63 million of diverse construction projects throughout San Antonio and the surrounding regions.  In 2005, Allen joined the real estate development team at the former Pearl Brewery where he has served as their Design and Construction Manager overseeing the design and construction of over 1.5 million square feet of commercial and residential space.  Since 2005, Pearl has been completely transformed from an industrial site shut down in 2002 to a vibrant urban center with local retail, office, 433 apartments, 19 restaurants, 4 bars, a world class culinary school, event venues, and Hotel Emma—a 146 room, boutique hotel rated #3 in the nation last year.
