Watercolor in the Canyon

Learn how watercolors can capture your visit to Government Canyon!

Artists have used nature for inspiration for ages. Join us and take a closer look at nature with a paintbrush in your hand. We’ll go over the basics of watercolor painting, and you’ll have time to paint your own souvenir of the canyon.

Who is Invited

Best for ages 10 and up; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.

Registration, Fees, Day Pass & Cancellation

Registration/reservations are NOT required! While registration is NOT required for this program, all Natural Area entry fees apply.

To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass .

IMPORTANT INFO: This is an after-hours program. If you DO NOT reserve a Day Pass in advance, correct change will be needed at the entry Fee Booth and you should self-register there. Instructions are posted to the right of the Fee Booth: $6 per adult (13 years or older) or enter your annual Texas State Parks pass number on the appropriate line of the self-pay envelope.

When & Where to Meet

Meet at the Group Pavilion off of Parking Lot A, near the Visitors Center. This program is being held in an accessible facility – let us know if you need any accommodations to make this program work for you.
