Join Government Canyon’s Texas Ambassador for a tech-savvy BioBlitz hike down the Joe Johnston Trail. Participants will learn how to use the iNaturalist app during orientation then test their skills in the field, taking photos and marking GPS locations of species along the trail with the iNaturalist app. No experience is required! Please download the iNaturalist app on your iPhone or Android device prior to your arrival. Open to ages 13 and over; minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No pets please. The iNaturalist app orientation starts promptly at 8:30AM with a two-hour hike following. Reservations required and will be accepted through Noon Friday April 21, 2017. Class size limited to the first 20 who sign up. Sorry, no group reservations. Include name of each participant, age if under 18, e-mail address and telephone number for each reservation. The fine print
Dress for the weather; sunscreen and hat recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring two liters of water per person and a snack. Meet at the Visitors Center no later than 8:15AM by the rainwater harvesting tower.
