Flowers are Calling

It's story time at Government Canyon!  Join a Ranger for a reading of the children's book Flowers are Calling.  We'll learn about different kinds of pollinators and the flowers that feed them.  Pollinator-themed crafts and activities will follow the story.  

Who is Invited

This program is geared towards children ages 2 - 8, but all ages are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Registration & Fees

Registration required for EACH CHILD.  Adults accompanying their children need NOT register. Sorry, no group registrations.  Natural Area entry fees apply; stop at the Entrance Fee Booth to self-pay/register.

When & Where to Meet

Arrive by 12:45 PM.  Meet in the Exhibit Gallery next to the Government Canyon Visitor Center.  Plan ahead, as the Natural Area often experiences heavy visitation and there may be wait time at the fee booth.

What to Wear & Bring

Dress appropriately for the weather. 

Requirements

Group size is limited to the first 15 children that register. No pets please. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.

Cancellations

This program will occur rain or shine.  In the event of severe weather it is subject to cancelation.  Check conditions by calling GCSNA’s main office at 210-688-9055 after 7:30AM, or by going to the GCSNA twitter feed or the Friends of Government Canyon Facebook page .
