Join a Government Canyon's Superintendent and amateur beekeeper, Chris Holm, to learn about the fascinating lives and importance of bees!  It'll be a honey of a program that will get you buzzed about these powerful little pollinators, and you might even get stung with the urge to start your own hive! Bee there, or bee square!

Who Is Invited

This program is best for 2nd - 5th graders, but open to kids of all ages as well; participants under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. No pets please. 

Registration & Fees

Registration required for EACH participant.  Sorry, no group registrations.  Natural Area entry fees apply; stop at the Entrance Fee Booth to self-pay/register. 

When & Where to Meet

Arrive by 8:45 am and meet in the Exhibit Gallery next to the Visitor's Center.  Plan ahead, as the Natural Area often experiences heavy visitation and wait time at the fee booth. Program will be held rain or shine!

What to Wear & Bring

Dress appropriately for the weather; the program will be held in an open-air building without air conditioning.   

Requirements

Group size is limited to 30.  No pets please.  Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.

Cancellations

Program will be held rain or shine!  On inclement mornings, check trail conditions by calling GCSNA's main office at 210-688-9055 after 7:30 am, or by going to the GCSNA twitter feed or the Friends of Government Canyon Facebook page.
