Military members past and present, along with their family and friends, are invited to share in a day of camaraderie. Feel free to carry your flags and bring pictures or memorabilia to share.
Hike distance will be approximately 7-9 miles covering uneven terrain with moderate elevation changes.
Who is Invited
Hike is open to ages 14 and older. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.
Registration & Fees
Registration is NOT required for this activity, but please arrive a little early. Saturdays can be very busy, and there is often a long line at the Fee Booth.
Though the hike is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply. To save time at the Fee Booth on crowded days and ensure entrance, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass.
When & Where to Meet
Park in Lot A or B, and meet at the Visitor Center near the Rainwater Tower. Plan to arrive no later than 7:45AM. The hike starts promptly at 8:00AM.
What to Wear & Bring
Dress for hiking outdoors. Comfortable, broken-in, shoes/boots, sunscreen, bug spray and a hat recommended. Wear layers that can be added or removed as weather conditions change. Bring at least 2 liters of water per person and snacks.
