Sunset can transform a familiar trail into a new environment with sights and sounds not experienced during daylight.
Take a walk down the Discovery Trail with a Ranger. We hope to hear owls hooting, view the night sky, and enjoy the peace of a late fall forest after dark.
Who Is Invited:
Hike is open to all ages. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.
Registration, fees & day passes
Registration is required for this event. Registration opens on Saturday, two weeks prior to the event, and closes at noon, the Thursday before the event. Though the hike is free, Natural Area entry fees apply.
To save time at the Fee Booth on crowded days and ensure entrance, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass. SPECIAL NOTE: Reserving a Day Pass is NOT the same as making a program reservation. Day passes can be reserved beginning one month before the date of your visit.
This is a public program intended for individuals or families. If you would like to bring a group for a program at Government Canyon, please contact the Park Interpreter at Lisa.Cole@tpwd.texas.gov to schedule at a different time.
