Ease into the New Year with a guided hike on the Savannah Loop Trail.
This hike is approximately 2.25 miles in length with a small amount of elevation change and relatively gentle terrain. Hike leaders will share the history of the Natural Area and point out the important restoration work being done along this trail.
Who is Invited
Open to all ages; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No strollers please. Registration/reservations required! Sorry, no group registrations; no pets please.
When & Where to Meet
Arrive no later than 8:45AM. Meet in Parking Lot C at the back of the parking lot where the Frontcountry Trailhead Kiosk is located. The Natural Area front gates open at 7:00AM; plan to be at the Frontcountry Trailhead Kiosk and ready to go no later than 8:45AM. The hike starts promptly at 9:00AM.
What to Wear & Bring
Dress for hiking outdoors; sunscreen and hat recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring one (1) liter of water PER PERSON and a snack if you like.
Requirements
No pets please. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Participants must be able to hike approximately 2.25 miles along relatively gentle terrain with a small amount of elevation gain.
To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.
Registration, Fees & Cancellation
Registration is required for this hike. Group size is limited to the first 12 that register. Registration opens on Saturday two weeks prior to the event and closes at noon the Thursday before the event. Natural Area entry fees apply.
